Nicolas specialises in oil & gas. He has worked in more than 25 African jurisdictions over the past 20 years.
His experience mainly includes acting for oil & gas companies in securing the award of exploration and production rights; and structuring, negotiating and implementing acquisitions and disposals of exploration and production assets throughout Africa. His experience also includes acting for States and national oil companies in reviewing petroleum regimes in Africa; and dealing with oil & gas companies.
As a French-qualifed lawyer Nicolas is known for his extended experience in and deep understanding of Francophone Africa. Based on industry standards, the E&P industry allowed him to progressively extend his geographical area of expertise to non-francophone countries in North, West and East Africa. He has recently qualified as a solicitor of England and Wales, which qualification further enhances his ability and credibility to advise clients in non-francophone countries in Africa.
His experience mainly includes acting for oil & gas companies in securing the renewal of exploitation licences and the award of government consent in the context of acquisitions and disposals of exploration and production assets in Africa. His experience also includes providing bespoke intelligence for oil & gas companies in various jurisdictions in Africa.
