Asafo & Co. has advised the shareholders of Corporate Investment Holding (CIH), the parent company of the Moroccan pharmaceutical laboratory Polymedic, on the sale of 100% of CIH’s share capital to Laprophan.

Founded in 1964, Polymedic is one of Morocco’s longest-established pharmaceutical laboratories. It develops, manufactures and markets medicines and in-licensed specialities from its 9,600 m² industrial site in Casablanca. Its portfolio comprises 138 marketing authorisations and more than 200 products across 12 therapeutic areas, with particular strengths in dermatology, the central nervous system and cardiovascular care. Polymedic also serves as an industrial and commercial partner in Morocco for several international pharmaceutical groups.

Based in Casablanca, Laprophan is a pharmaceutical group with more than 1,300 marketing authorisations and four production sites in Morocco and Switzerland. The acquisition builds on its growth strategy, following its acquisitions of Amanys Pharma and Botanic Pharma in 2024 and of a majority stake in the Swiss group Rivopharm in 2026.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals, including clearance by the Moroccan Competition Council.

This transaction reinforces Asafo & Co.’s experience in pharmaceutical M&A and its broader expertise in advising on transactions in regulated sectors, in Morocco and across Africa.

The Asafo & Co. team is led by partner Patrick Larrivé, supported by senior associate Thami El Idrissi and associates Adji Marieme Dieng, Lilia-Oriana Dif and Baptiste Persouyre.
